To rent or to buy?

Germany is well-known as a nation of renters (primarily) but if you're moving there for the long-term, it might make sense to splash out and buy your own home. As the following infographic shows, buying a flat in major German cities rather than renting one can be considerably cheaper. There are some exceptions however, such as in Munich where it's cheaper to rent.
