Skripal Poisoning

Europeans Suspect Russia Of Skripal Poisoning

After being poisoned with her father, an ex-spy, 33-year-old Yulia Skripal has been discharged from Salisbury District Hospital and brought to a secure location. Yulia and her father Sergei were both exposed to toxic nerve agent Novichok in central Salisbury in early March. The UK says that Russia orchestrated the attack, an accusation the Kremlin strongly denies.

Despite the consistent denials, most European governments have sided with the UK and expelled Russian diplomats. According to YouGov, the people of Europe also strongly suspect Russian government involvement in the poisoning. Recent polling found that 81 percent of people in Finland and Denmark think the Russian state was responsible, along with 63 percent in Norway and Sweden. Majorities in Germany and France also believe the Kremlin was almost certainly or probably responsible.
