The Teams That Spent the Most on Their Squad

Manchester City are walking it in the Premier League this season, but as new analysis by CIES Football Observatory shows, this has only been possible thanks to huge levels of investment in their squad. Totalling up their recruitment costs for the current team, City's outlay comes to €878m. Not even PSG, having smashed the transfer fee record to bring Neymar to Paris last summer, come close. Highlighting the huges sums of money currently in the Premier League, even Everton, by no means world beaters (yet), are in tenth place with €365m.
