Mueller Investigation

Public's Take On Trump And The Mueller Investigation

A new Pew Research Center survey has found that a majority of Americans think senior members of the Trump administration had improper contacts with Russia during the presidential election. Pew found that 30 percent of the U.S. public think there definitely were improper contacts, along with 29 percent who think there probably were. Only 18 percent of those polled think there definitely was no contact. Unsurprisingly, there is also a strong partisan divide on the question.

The survey also asked respondents about their confidence in the fairness of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into the matter. 36 percent of people have little or no confidence in how fair the investigation will be while 45 percent have far more faith in proceedings. Democrats and Republicans are also very split on this issue. 68 percent of Democrats are confident the investigation will be fair compared to only 44 percent of Republicans.
