Selfies Deadlier than Sharks

The film "Jaws" really gave sharks a bad reputation, especially the big white still causes a big fright. Fearing marine predators is a little irrational if you compare the shark attack death rate to how deadly a threat mankind is to itself. As our chart shows, even taking selfies is proving deadlier than shark attacks.

Like Al Pacino says in the "Devil's Advocate", "Vanity, definitely my favorite sin." A really deadly sin as it turns out. According to an international study, 73 people died in the first eight weeks of 2016 alone. According to the University of Florida in 2016 there were only four fatalities after unprovoked shark attacks worldwide.
