Which Countries Have Google Street View?

Since Google launched its Street View project across several U.S. cities in 2007, it has expanded to include cities and rural areas all over the world. Up to 2012, the company's vehicles covered 5 million unique miles and collected 20 petabytes of images. It isn't just imagery though. Equipped with sensors, the cars also recently drove 100,000 miles in parts of California to collect data on pollution.

The following infographic shows the state of the project today. Most of North and South America, Europe and Oceania have full or partial coverage. For example, the Netherlands is fully covered and while Street View does exist in Germany, it is concentrated in large cities with many buildings blurred due to residents' privacy concerns. India is another interesting example. Even though the country has coverage in some of its landmarks and through countless photo spheres, the goverment reportedly banned Google's plans to map the country last year citing security concerns.
