Americans Have Been Awarded the Most Nobel Prizes

In October, all eyes will be on Stockholm and Oslo. The world will find out who will be this year’s Nobel Laureates in the categories physiology or medicine, physics, chemistry, peace, economic sciences, and literature.

The nominees remain secret. However, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has revealed that the Nobel Peace Prize alone has a close to record-high 318 candidates this year, 215 individuals and 103 organizations.

Thanks to Alfred Nobel, inventor and namesake of the Nobel Prize, the internationally highly prestigious award has been given to 911 Nobel Laureates for their outstanding achievements between 1901 and 2016.
