Young people arrested for terror

The latest arrest made in connection with the Parsons Green bombing in London was of a 17 year old boy. Our chart shows the number of people under the age of 18 arrested for terrorism-related offences in Great Britain in the first half of this year. Extend the age bracket to those under 25 and you have 30 percent of all such arrests in the latest period. As separate analysis of the Home Office figures shows, the share of arrests which actually lead to a terrorism-related conviction is quite small.
