Over half the world's primates are facing extinction

Worrying research has found that over half the world's primates are now facing extinction. According to the journal Science Advances, all of the current threats to primates can be attributed to human activity. Madagascar has been particularly badly affected with all 103 of its lemur species under threat. Rampant forest destruction, hunting and political uncertainty has driven at least 23 lemur species to the very brink of extinction. 75 percent of the world's primate species have declining populations.
