Who was a typical voter for Trump and Clinton? Using data from the Edison Research exit poll, the Statista infographic below shows the demographic groups in which each candidate performed the best. While Trump didn't particularly dominate any of these selected demographics, the groups he did best in generally have the largest number of voters. As expected, Clinton did very well with the black vote, securing 88 percent of the ballots. In terms of race, Trump was most popular among white voters, winning 58 percent of this group.
