Where non-Irish gardaí come from
Irish Law Enforcement
An Garda Síochána, Ireland's police force, is becoming increasingly diverse. Figures published by TheJournal.ie show that there are now over 100 non-Irish members of the 13,000-strong force. Since 2006, 57 non-Irish nationals have been recruited. In 2016, 20 officers were Chinese, 12 were Polish and 7 were American.
