A growing problem for the UK's fire service

The UK's fire services are increasingly being asked to handle a new type of rescue. This most certainly isn't a sterotypical rescue of a cat stuck up a tree. It is actually the phenomenon of bariatric rescues, a term describing rescues of severely obese people requiring specialist equipment. In 2012-13, 709 rescues of morbidly obese people took place in the UK and this increased to 944 in 2015-16. Fire services are conducting the most rescues in South Wales. Read more on indy100.
