Conventional Wisdom: Clinton Can Count on More Support From Own Party than Trump
The National Convention to nominate the Republican presidential candidate is on its way in Cleveland, Ohio. Donald Trump polarizes, not only the wider American electorate, but more importantly his own party, the Republicans. The party's establishment remains unconvinced by his brusque style and lack of political experience.
The below Infographic shows that the Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is seen to have a clear advantage over Trump in this respect. While 54 percent of the polled registered voters thought that there will be dissent within the Republican Party, only 24 percent thought Clinton would not be able to rally her party behind her.
The Democratic Convention will be held from July 25 to 28 in Philadelphia.
