The Countries Generating The Most Municipal Waste
According to the OECD, municipal waste includes household waste as well as similar waste from commercial activities, offices, institutions and small business. It accounts for up to one third of all public expenditure aimed at curbing pollution despite the fact that it represents only 10 percent of total waste generation. A recent OECD report reveals that Denmark generated 751 kg per capita of municipal waste in 2013, followed by the United States with 725 kg and Switzerland with 712 kg.
