Small businesses are the backbone of many economies, yet they face significant challenges that can impede their growth and sustainability. According to a recent survey by the European Commission, the top three challenges identified by small business owners are the availability of skilled staff, the costs of production or labor, and finding customers.
These challenges have been well documented in other studies like the European Accommodation Barometer. This survey has shown that staffing and the costs related to personnel, inputs, and services are consistently identified among the leading challenges facing accommodation businesses. More importantly, the study highlights a correlation between the size of an accommodation business and their positive perception of their own business development.
