If you're planning on visiting Oslo for a sightseeing trip, it might be wise to start saving in order to use the city's costly public transportation system. According to a list compiled by "The Richest", the Norwegian capital has the world's highest price for a single ticket on its transportation network at $5.12 in early 2014.
While it may be reasonable for the high-earning locals, Scandinavian public transport is scandalously expensive for everyone else. Indeed, Denmark's capital Copenhagen comes second with $4.88 while Sweden's capital follows close behind with a single ticket costing $4.52. Taking the bus is also costly in Switzerland with Zurich and Geneva making the top 10 list with prices for a single ticket coming to $4.66 and $3.67 respectively.
