According to a European Commission market study of European independent hotels using online travel platforms, more than two-thirds use more than one platform. A plurality of independent hotels make use of two online travel platforms, whilst 15 percent use more than three. Using online travel platforms brings a host of benefits to hoteliers, including an increase in visibility, generation of additional bookings, analytics, and performance improvement through insights. In Europe, around a quarter of overall hotel bookings are made via online travel platforms.
