The usual build-up of anticipation and rumors in the Apple world come to a close today as the company holds its latest launch event. The Mac is likely to take center-stage as customary for the October event and indeed, at the top of the hype list according to an online survey by 9to5Mac, is the M1X version of the MacBook Pro.
As noted by the source: "If analysts and leakers are right this time, Apple will bring two new models with 14-inch and 16-inch screens with miniLED technology. Not only that, this MacBook could bring Apple’s redemption after a lot of controversy with older Macs. For example, the company is rumored to remove the Touch Bar and bring back more ports, like HDMI and microSD."
While the Mac range of products of course remains important to Apple, their impact on the annual profit and loss sheet has has lessened significantly over the years as the company has introduced new, more mass market products such as the iPhone, the iPad and the Apple Watch. As covered by Statista previously, in 2020 Mac computer sales accounted for just 10.4 percent of total revenue.
