Always a nice indulgence, food delivery became something of a necessity for Americans during the pandemic. With restaurants shuttered for on-premises dining for long periods in 2020, delivery was the only real option for people keen to avoid cooking. After months of takeaway pizza, sushi and the like, which delivery services remain the most popular across the United States?
According to Statista's Global Consumer Survey, San Francisco-based DoorDash is the top online food delivery brand in the country with more than half of respondents stating that they used the service in 2021. Founded in 2013, it now commands more than half America's online food delivery market. Pizza is a firm favorite and Domino's comes in second with 47 percent of people using it for online delivery while GrubHub comes third with 42 percent making an online order.
