Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has been leading his opponent, Republican incumbent President Donald Trump in the polls ahead of the U.S. presidential elections on November 3. Election website 270toWin, aptly stating in its slogan that “This is not a popularity contest™”, is converting polling averages into electoral college votes, projecting that Biden would gain 258 votes from states safely Democrat or leaning Democrat. This is slightly less than the 270 votes required to win the electoral college and the presidency.
Donald Trump is projected to win 125 votes in states safely Republican or leaning Republican according to current polling. 155 votes come from states that were polling too close to call. As of November 2, these included Ohio, Florida, Texas and Pennsylvania.
