According to the latest data from the Johns Hopkins University, the United States has more than 5.7 million confirmed Covid-19 cases and approximately 178,000 deaths. A new poll from YouGov has found that a majority of Republican registered voters considers that death toll acceptable. 57 percent of Republicans stated that the number of U.S. fatalities so far is acceptable while 43 percent consider it unacceptable.
That is in stark contrast to Democrats, 90 percent of whom consider the number of deaths in the pandemic so far unacceptable. Out of the general population, 69 percent of U.S. adults say the number of people who have lost their lives due to Covid-19 is unacceptable while 31 percent say it is acceptable.
