As of May 11, 2020, the United Kingdom had close to 200,000 COVID-19 cases and just under 32,000 deaths. According to an Opinium poll for the Observerpublished at the weekend, the UK public is scathing about the government's response to the pandemic. 2,005 UK adults were polled and the majority believe that the UK has handled the crisis worse than France, Italy and Spain. Only the United States was judged to have dealth with the situation worse than the UK.
