The most important states to win on Super Tuesday are all polling in favor of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), averages from FiveThirtyEight show. Both in California, where 415 delegates are up for grabs, and Texas, which has 228 delegates to offer, the Vermont senator leads his next closest competitor for the Democratic nomination in the 2020 presidential election, Joe Biden.
Biden is only ahead in two major states - North Carolina (110 delegates) and Virginia (99 delegates). He is still holding on to the runner-up position in Colorado (67) and Minnesota (75). In Massachusetts (91), Sen. Elizabeth Warren's (D-MA) home state, he is polling third behind her. Those latter states have a lot more undecided voters though, adding an element of surprise to the election process.
All in all, 1,357 delegates will be allocated on Super Tuesday, Californian and Texan delegates making up around half of them.
