A poll of registered U.S. Catholic voters show a split in opinion on voting for President Donald Trump in the upcoming 2020 presidential election, according to RealClearPolitics.
Over 1,500 registered Catholic voters were polled, with 34 percent saying they are sure to vote for Trump and 36 percent saying they will never vote for Trump. The other 30 percent responded that they were somewhere in the middle, saying there was either a good chance, a possibility or unlikely chance that they would vote for Trump.
Politically, more Catholic voters said the Democratic party represented their religious values than did the Republican party, with 56 percent and 47 percent, respectively. However, those who identified as “Devout Catholics” were much more likely to say the Republican party represented their values, with 65 percent saying Republican and 49 percent saying Democrat.
