Writing letters is getting more expensive in Germany

Back in 2012, sending a standard letter in Germany only cost 55 cents. Since then, however, postage prices have steadily creeping up and from July 01, 2019, they are going to hit 80 cents. The increases aren't just for standard postage - prices for sending postcards, compact letters, large letters and maxi letters have also risen significantly in recent years.
