Brexit deadlock continues as risk of no deal increases
UK Politics
Yesterday evening, MPs were given a second chance to vote on alternatives to Theresa May's negotiated deal with the EU and steer the Brexit process away from a no deal situation and in a more constructive direction. Again, at the second time of asking, they failed to take the initiative, all four alternatives falling short of a majority despite coming closer to a breakthrough compared to last week. As this infographic shows, a confirmatory public vote on any Brexit deal again received the most 'Ayes' and Ken Clarke's custom union proposal came closest to a majority but once more didn't get over the line. the prospect of the UK now crashing out of the EU is closer than ever.
