International Women's Day always serves as an important occasion to highlight key strides made by women around the world. Earlier in the week, Eurostat released some interesting data showing the share of women in management positions in different EU countries. Unsurprisingly, the share of women serving as senior executives in the largest publicly listed companies is rather low across all Member States, reaching its highest level in Lithuania at 28 percent.
The share of women in general management positions has increased in recent years and it is highest in Latvia at 56 percent. Bulgaria and Estonia follow with 49 percent each. In the UK, 37 percent of management positions are occupied by women while in Germany, the figure is 30 percent.
