NHS waiting times targets fading into the distance
United Kingdom
NHS waiting times have long been an issue in England, and a new report from the National Audit Office has highlighted how the Trust's targets are slipping further away year for year. As the selection of standards featured on our chart shows, NHS England was ahead of its targets for A&E, cancer and routine conditions in 2012-13 but this have fallen behind in all three areas by considerable margins. The most dramatic of these changes has been observed with the standard for A&E which has experienced a 7.6 percentage point drop over the last few years.
