Where poverty threatens the most pensioners in Europe

New figures from Eurostat have revealed a continuing upward trend in the share of pensioners at risk of poverty in Europe. According to the analysis, 14.2 percent in the EU were under threat in 2017, up from 13.8 percent in 2016 and the recent low of 12.6 percent in 2013. This infographic reveals the countries with the largest share at risk, with Estonia at the top with an astonishing 46.1 percent. The heavyweight economies of the UK and Germany are also above the EU average, with 19.1 and 17.5 percent, respectively.
