Americans are losing support for special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. Mueller oversees the investigation into Russia’s alleged efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election. He is also tasked with examininh whether the Russian government worked with Trump during the election. The special counsel investigation began when President Trump fired former FBI director James Comey.
Mueller’s inquiry has been going on for over a year now. At the start of the investigation, almost three-quarters of Americans believed the Russia investigation should continue. Now, that same support is down to a near even split: 52 support-45 against.
