Mmm...Homer
Simpsons
Ever since the BBC aired Britain’s first Simpsons episode, the Brits fell in love with the yellow, four-fingered family. When in 2003 the Simpsons arrived in London for their first UK trip, they were even welcomed by former Prime Minister Tony Blair and later had the chance to meet not only J. K. Rowling, but also Ian McKellen, whose real-world counterparts happily lend their voice to their yellow alter egos.
Even though the Brits probably love every main character of the show, a YouGov study shows that the family’s patriarch is Britain’s favorite Simpson, closely followed by his children Bart and Lisa. Being the favorite character of only one percent of the respondents, groundskeeper Willie – despite his Scottish heritage - is quite unpopular in Great Britain.
