Alcohol
From five-star hotels to Formula One podiums, champagne is for many the pinnacle of alcoholic beverages. One of France's most famous products, the country exported a total of 306.1 million 75cl bottles around the world last year. No country had more thirst for the luxury product than the United Kingdom. With a total of 31.2 million bottles imported, nowhere else really came close. According to figures from Comité Champagne, the second most common destination for the bubbly was the U.S., with 21.8 million bottles making their way across the Atlantic in the twelve month period.
