Burning people alive, skinning people, crushing someone's head, stabbing through the eye...mass murder. Brutal violence is one of Game Of Thrones' real hallmarks. Back in 2011 when it all started, the body count stood at 26 as far as characters go after the show's first season.
By season 6, that grew to 58, driven by events like the destruction of the Great Sept of Baelor by wildfire. That massacre is probably just the summer before the winter as far as the death toll is concerned. Season 7 took it down a notch, with only 10 characters kicking the bucket. This is according to Salon.com, which made their list to exclude "non-speaking, non-named" roles.
