Samsung's Profit Soars as Apple Falters

Powered by its successful smartphone business, Samsung reported a 42 percent increase of net profits for the quarter that ended March 31. The news comes just days after Apple, Samsung biggest rival in the smartphone market, posted an 18 percent profit drop, the first in almost a decade. The above chart illustrates the recent success of Samsung, which coincides with Apple's gradual decline.
