Premier League Tops the Big Five by Far
Soccer/Football
The British Premier League has the most revenue to show for of all European football (soccer) leagues. As shown in our infographic, revenue stood at 4.87 billion euros, according to data provided by auditing firm Deloitte. This boils down to a season-over-season increase of 11 percent.
Tracking the revenue since the 1996/97 season shows just how much more revenue is made in the big leagues today. While the so-called "Big Five" made 2.5 billion euros back then, last season they raked in some 13.4 billion euros. The German Bundesliga is in 2nd position having made some 2.7 billion euros in revenue - a bit more than the "Big Five" made together in the 1996/97 season.
