The state of child benefit in Germany
Germany
In 2017, parents of a single child in Germany receive €192 every month in Kindergeld (child benefit). That money keeps flowing right up until the child turns 25 (depending on job and whether the child still lives at home). Parents get another €192 if they have a second child, €198 for their third, and €223 for every subsequent child. Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats announced that if they get reelected, they will increase the payments by €25 every month. This infographic was featured on TheLocal.de.
