Deaths due to respiratory system diseases in the Canary Islands 2005-2022
In 2022, the number of deaths due to respiratory system diseases amounted to 2,162 cases in the Canary Islands, up from 1,900 deaths reported a year prior. This figure reached its highest value in 2018, when the number of deaths from respiratory conditions totaled more than 2,200 cases in the Spanish community. As of 2022, the number of casualties caused by respiratory conditions, such as influenza, pneumonia, or asthma in Spain reached around 43,000 cases.
