International cooperation spending as share of GDP in the Netherlands increased between 2013 and 2015, before decreasing significantly the following year. In 2013, government spending on international cooperation was 1.8 percent of GDP, whereas by 2015 government spending on international cooperation had grown to over two percent of GDP. In 2018, the Dutch government spent just below two percent of GDP on international cooperation, and this figure was expected to decrease slightly in the following years, to 1.7 percent.
