In 2023, custom charges were the biggest reason Swedish shoppers did not want to buy from foreign online stores. Over half of the survey respondents cited custom charges as their main reason against cross-border e-commerce. Around 45 percent of online shoppers said that longer delivery times stopped them from ordering from overseas. Fear of fraud followed, with 40 percent of survey respondents.
