Italy: fossil fuels imports & security of EU energy supplies 2017

This statistic depicts the results of the Eurobarometer survey carried out in Italy as of 2017. During the survey, respondents were asked whether they agreed or disagreed with the statement that reducing fossil fuels imports from outside the EU could increase the security of the EU energy supplies. As of the survey period, 29 percent of the interviewed Italians have totally agreed that reducing the fossil fuels dependency could increase the security of the EU energy supplies.
The EU imports more than half of all the energy it consumes. Its import dependency is particularly high for crude oil (90%) and natural gas (69%) and several countries rely on a single supplier.
