Share of total cargo handled in India FY 2022, by major port
In the fiscal year 2022, the Deendayal port in India had the highest share of total cargo handled at about 17.65 percent. The Indian maritime sector witnessed negative growth in the financial year 2022 following the pandemic-induced economic recession. The port sector of the South Asian country handled just under 1.25 billion metric tons of cargo that year, reflecting a year-on-year decrease from 1.3 billion metric tons.
