Operating expenses of Indian domestic private airlines FY 2022, by operator
IndiGo reported operating expenses of around 295 billion Indian rupees at the end of financial year 2022. The airline reported a loss of over eight billion rupees in that year. Previously Jet Airways dominated the air travel market in India. After a series of unprofitable years, the airline declared bankruptcy in early 2019. The private air carrier, established in 1992, temporarily suspended operations in April 2019, following which insolvency proceedings officially commenced in July that year.
