Number of new university students in Finland 2023, by university

Around 27,500 new students were admitted to universities in Finland for the academic year 2023/2024. The University of Helsinki welcomed the largest number of new students 4,201, followed by Tampere University with 3,509 new students. 

University of Helsinki was the largest university in Finland in 2023. Tampere University was established on 1 January 2019, when the University of Tampere merged with Tampere University of Technology.
