In a study conducted in 2019, it was found that 55 percent of the U.S. population aged 13 years old or above listened to spoken word audio via an AM or FM radio receiver, down from 73 percent five years earlier. Traditional radio receivers remain the most popular devices for enjoying audio content, though usage has decreased as mobile devices have grown in popularity.
