Spain: daily internet usage 2017, by age group
Internet users in Spain showed a clear preference for the Chrome browser in 2016. Chrome held a market share of 60.86 percent, ahead of the 14.96 held by Safari, Chrome's nearest rival. This is a greater market share than Chrome enjoys in the global market, with Chrome claiming 52.46 of the market ahead of the 14.41 held by Safari.
The share of households connected to the internet in Spain has increased significantly since 2006. In that year, just 38 percent of Spanish households were connected to the internet, compared with 74.4 percent of households in 2014. The proportion of people who both had a computer in the house and an internet connect was almost equal in 2014, compared with a 17.9 percent gap in 2006.
