Canada: number of Twitter users 2012-2021

This statistic shows a the number of active Twitter users in Canada from 2012 to 2021. In 2016, the microblogging site was estimated to reach 7.4 million monthly active users, up from 7.3 million users in 2015. As of the last quarter of 2016, Twitter had a 37 percent penetration rate in Canada, which means it ranked fourth based on reach among other social networks. In August 2016 Twitter user gender distribution was measured, and the results indicate that women accounted for 48 percent of the platform's users.
