Number of mobile app users in the United Kingdom (UK) Q3 2013-Q2 2016

This statistic presents a forecast of the number of mobile app users in the United Kingdom (UK) from third quarter of 2013 to second quarter of 2016. By quarter two 2016, it was forecasted there will be 43.2 million mobile app users in the UK. This constitutes an increase of roughly 11.3 million users over a course of close to three years. When divided into age groups, the number of mobile app users in the UK is rather evenly distributed with between 9 and 10 million users between the age of 25 to 34 years, 35 to 44 years and 45 to 54 years each. Approximately 6.6 million were between the age of 18 and 24 and around 8 million are between 55 and 64 years old as of the second quarter in 2016. The number of mobile apps downloaded worldwide comes to 149 billion in 2016 and is projected to more than double to approximately 353 billion in 2021. The worldwide mobile app revenue for 2016 amounts to approximately 88.3 billion U.S. dollars.
