In 2014, the revenue amounted to 5.47 billion U.S. dollars, down from 6.32 billion a year earlier. According to a different research published by NPD, the most frequently sold video game genres included action and shooter games in 2014. In terms of popular titles, the best selling PC games in recent time were The Sims and World of Warcraft.
