According to a study held in July 2023 in the United States about AI use cases in TV and film industries, 42 percent of respondents supported the use of such technology to create special effects or to alter actors' appearances. It was the most supported AI use case, while generating voices for animated characters came in second position with 38 percent. The majority of entertainment-industry professionals agreed that the role AI was a point of contention for the ongoing writers strike.
