Production of natural gas in Australia 2021, by state
In 2021, Western Australia produced the largest quantities of conventional gas and liquefied natural gas at approximately 2,745.6 and 2,386.5 billion cubic feet. The biggest producer of coal seam gas was Queensland at around 1,437.7 billion cubic feet. Natural gas production in Australia from 2009 to 2021 has been steadily increasing, with the significance of natural gas exports in current times on the rise.
